Ludwig Von Mises "Article-A-Day"
ByIf you’ve been to a bookstore during the last five years you’ve probably seen a One-A-Day Calendar. It’s a large square pad with each sheet containing the day — say, for example, July 6, 2009 — and then the calendar’s thematic feature, usually a quote, vocabulary word, or humorous cartoon. You tear off the top page to reveal the correct date and info every morning.
It’s not a bad way to learn a foreign language or pick up a unique skill. It may not be what the Ludwig Von Mises Institute had in mind when they created their Mises Daily Archives, but the service kind of reminds us of an electronic One-A-Day calendar for those who’d like to learn more about advocacy on behalf of free markets.
Each day, in your in-box, you’ll find an email with the day’s date and a short article written by a top libertarian and Austrian economics scholars including Ludwig von Mises, Murray Rothbard, Robert P. Murphy, and Wilhem Roepke. Some articles are classics, while others are destined to be. If you spend a year on the mailing/RSS list and read the articles, you’ll no doubt know considerably more about free market economics from the Austrian school than you do today.
