ARI’s Atlas Shrugged Essay Contest
ByAyn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged was a favorite novel of ours in high school and college. We’ve met more than a few students who have been inspired by Atlas Shrugged as well as Rand’s other books to pursue interests in philosophy, economics, and the arts. That’s increasingly true today as the “gone galt” meme has begun to pop up all over the government and young people online and offline have begun noticing that the novel seems almost prophetic given TARP and the rise of the Obama Administration.
It’s only fitting then that the nonprofit formed to further advancement of her ideas has and will continue to sponsor a series of essay contests with large prizes worthy of a novelist who became famous (or infamous) for showing up to campus events wearing a gold dollar sign decorative pin.
This year the Atlas Shrugged contest boasts $10,000 for the first prize winner and thousands for dozens of additional winners. The Deadline to submit is September 17, 2009. Make sure and click the thumbnail below for additional information on this essay contest and others sponsored by ARI.
