Cable News Comedy for Conservatives and Libertarians: Greg Gutfeld's Red Eye

By Brandon Martin

Greg Gutfeld hosts a late night panel comedy show on Fox News called Red Eye, which runs at 3AM EST, Monday through Friday. Unlike the other comedy cable news shows featuring such politically-correct ideologues as Bill Maher and Jon Stewart, Red Eye is actually irreverent enough to to be both memorable and funny.

Gutfeld is a libertarian of the don’t-legislate-morality type, but his guests come from all sorts of different locations on the political spectrum. The show is creative and endlessly weird in a way that deserves some appreciation – especially since it has been running for a couple of years without running dry on either the weird or the creative factors. Most importantly, though, the show doesn’t feel the need to show reverence for President Obama and the jokes aren’t actually left-wing rants like the material you’ll find these days on the shows with Maher and Stewart. If you know a liberal or lefty who is growing-out of their politically-correct shell, send them Red Eye’s way…
