Commentary Magazine is probably the nation’s foremost monthly publication of neo-conservative and Jewish-American political conservative thought. There are certainly times when we don’t agree with Commentary’s contributors, but even when we don’t agree, we respect their intellectual vigor and candor and find it an interesting source for an alternative point of view.
For the last decade or two, Commentary Magazine has published a list of contributing writers that reads like a who’s who of the most influential popular writers and thinkers in conservative movement.
The magazine has also launched a blog worth checking up on occasionally called “Contentions” that is available free via their website.
We hadn’t read Commentary in some time, but after listening to endless praise for Obama’s “historic” address to muslims in the Middle East from the mainstream media, we thought we’d see if Commentary had a different perspective. Indeed, the Commentary Crowd dissents to the popular vision that Obama’s quoting the Koran is a momentous moment for American foreign policy. You can read their view here.
