iReagan App for iPhone

By Brandon Martin

A new app for Apple’s iPhone is quickly going viral: iReagan.

The application was created by Reagan’s Presidential library and was apparently developed in part by iTMP Tech.

We don’t have an iPhone, so we can’t provide a detailed description of the functionality, but if the application provides a directory of quotes and the ability to send around favorites, it should be a hit amongst young conservatives. Many of our younger cellular warriors have heard the handful of lines from President Reagan that are oft-quoted in the conservative media, but are unfamiliar with the depth and breadth of the quotable material delivered by Reagan.

One detail that seems to account for the velocity through which the application is spreading today: the latest version (1.01) appends a link to the application to each email sent from iReagan allowing the recipient to click to install iReagan on their own device if they so choose.

We’ve been pleased to see conservatives take the lead on Twitter and are also pleased to see conservatives pushing forward on the mobile phone front. This seems increasingly likely to be the next new media battlefield and we’re always happy to report on new cell phone friendly advancements.

Perhaps, Eric Cantor and Kevin McCarthy might want to consider including an option to send out their reports and Friday funnies with a link to download their WhipCast application for the Blackberry platform. Today’s cartoon was funny enough to have motivated me to send it around to a couple of hundred friends.

(Also, three cheers to iTMP. I’m not sure if the Reagan app would tempt me to buy an iPhone, but their iPhone heart rate monitor and New Leaf integration applications look like they could be killer apps for the iPhone. Very tempting.)
