Write On Nevada: A Regional Blog that Deserves a National Audience
ByWe rarely spotlight individual blogs as resources on Daily Uprising, but today we are going to make an exception for one of my favorite think-tank affiliated blogs, “Write On Nevada.”
Before you jump to the next post because you think that Write On Nevada will only be meaningful to you if you live in Nevada, we urge you to reconsider. We live in California, but find Write on Nevada to contain relevant and timely content that is meaningful to us.
The blog does a decent job of covering their own regional crazies and the stumbles of the more-government crowd in their own backyard. That should be important to anyone interested in the national scene because Nevada will be a battleground state for much of the foreseeable future with the promise of political drama and personalities that reach far beyond its borders — and we don’t just mean the struggles of Nevada’s Senatorial delegation.
But, where Write On Nevada really shines isn’t in horserace discussions or political gossip. The blog features the voices of liberty lovers discussing the virtues of free markets and their new discoveries about libertarian advocacy in conversational tones. They don’t lecture or repeat dogmatic phrases over and over again like many libertarian blogs. Instead, they cover tea party activities and YouTube vloggers who don’t have PhDs, and they interview a fascinating group of people whose ideas and concerns are relevant to the defense of free markets, but whose names you might never have heard of before if you don’t live in Nevada.
Go ahead and subscribe to the blog via RSS and follow it for awhile. If you don’t like it, you can just delete it from your RSS reader, but my guess is that you’ll be hooked so soon that you’ll never even consider missing a post from the Write On Nevada team.
