The Bakersfield Tea Party – In Their Own Words

By Brandon Martin

We threw out our polished report on the Bakersfield Tea Party last night.

It was difficult to admit, but our commentary and the time we spent trying to edit our video footage with style just didn’t seem to do justice to the sincerity of the people at the event.  We also think there’s been too much coverage of what commentators and politicians say at tea parties and too few efforts to allow the protesters to speak for themselves about  their own concerns.

With that in mind, we’ve finally wrapped up our video.  Thanks again to the Bakersfield Tea Party team.

  1. Mickey says:

The last comment on the video hit it perfectly, the Tea Parties were about the government not listening to the people, not just about taxes. This is a point that so many are missing as they try to report or comment on the protests. Irresponsible government has to go away.

Thanks, Mickey. Do you mind if we hardlink to Dose of Clarity? Your website looks like our cup of tea, so to speak.

For all: In additional to discovering Mickey’s blog, we recently found an excellent photo montage of the Bakersfield Tea Party at:
