Tomorrow's Freedom Rally Should Be a Model for The Tea Party Movement

Antelope Valley Tea Party Co-Organizer John Skjefte at the April 15, 2009 Antelope Valley Tax Day Tea Party
Instead, the conservative and libertarian philosophy is packaged in an act of good will that only the very extreme left could condemn. We believe their tea party will be covered by the mainstream media in their area and appeal to independents and conservative Democrats without watering-down their message or moderating their philosophy. After all, who doesn’t think there’s both exceptional goodwill and a newsworthy occurrence in a spontaneous effort by hundreds or thousands of men, women, and children to package up shoeboxes full of gifts for soldiers fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Here’s a clip from the press release:
“While the first event focused heavily on tax issues, this event is focused on rebuilding pride in America and expressing appreciation for the men and women of America’s Armed Forces.
“While there were many thinking, and hoping, the Tea Party movement was a flash-in-the-pan one-trick pony,” explained John Skjefte, “we’re here to stay and are going to focus on the wide range factors needed to promote traditional values this nation was founded on. This July we want to bring patriots together to show how important it is to support America and our troops.”
The Antelope Valley Tea Party is a non-partisan event welcoming all residents of the AV who want to celebrate America, support our troops and seek accountability from all elected leaders and government agencies. Organizers are asking all attendees to please bring a shoe box full of non-perishable food and toiletry items that will be donated to a local non-profit for shipping overseas to active military.”
In the event you live in California’s Antelope Valley or know someone who does or think the nature of the event merits coverage from national media sources, you can download the flier here and pass it on.
