A Note Worth Passing On…

By Brandon Martin

Yesterday evening we received the following letter via Facebook from site viewer, Sloan Richard:

Just a little steam I have to let off. Please urge each and every one of your readers to please contact their US Senators to vote NO on the Sotomayor appointment. I find it very poor and faulty judgment on the part of Obama to appoint a justice who judges based on empathy. There is a lot of truth to the saying that emotions cloud the judgment or that rulings should be made without passion or prejudice. As a judge, one should read the letter of the law and apply accordingly. In addition, I find it very shocking (well, I expect this type of faulty judgment from Obama) that Obama would even consider such a judge who acknowledges making policy when she is behind the bench! That job is for the legislative branch and not the judicial. I thought Obama went to law school or better yet, didn’t he learn this in civics class? It’s actions and thinking like this (acting based on how you feel instead of being rational), basically Obama’s administration and his supporters, who are devaluing this country and producing more and more of a “weakling” state.

The proper title for my view on the Sotomayor issue:

    “OBAMA’S APPOINTMENT…OR BETTER YET, OBAMA’S DIS-APPOINTMENT!”
